The Bicameral Mind

The idea of a human acting unreflectively, according to the dictates of his non-conscious right temporal lobe, is a deeply fascinating image to me. I think it is the ultimate in spontaneous behavior -- there is complexity in it because the thought processes we think of as conscious, i.e. reasoning and decision-making, are happening in a non-conscious context.

That's it for now--just a quick note, but something I want to expand on in the future.
