Just a note: It is annoying and frustrating to me, to realize what a charge I get out of passing cars on the freeway. Seems really juvenile and useless; but somehow every time I pass somebody I just have this nice feeling of having gotten one over...

Yeah, that's exactly the impulse -- it's not a thought process, thinking about it I know the relative positioning of me and the other cars is completely inconsequential -- but there's a subconscious drive to be at the front of the line.

Yeah...I experience it while walking, but not while driving. I watch other people do it in amazement.

Hm, I've experienced this as well come to think of it. I guess I don't notice it as much maybe because I've been walking all my life and only driving regularly for a few years now.
